Stan Lee: The Man Behind the Cape


Remember when you were a child, spending your good free time sitting in front of the television, anxiously waiting for our favourite superheroes to appear on screen and save the day? Remember how Spiderman used to swing from building to building, or how Ironman would defeat his enemies with only his witty brain? Oh, how wonderful were those days. But have no fear, for those days still actually live up to this day! Whether you realise it or not, nothing has changed in the world of capes and spandex. The superhero community has elevated from old-fashioned televisions to the big screens instead. What would we do without our gallant superheroes? 

 However, have we ever wondered of the man behind all these marvellous creations? This incredible man is none other than the one and only, Stan Lee. Who is Stan Lee, you may ask? This man brought up Tony Stark, Dr. Bruce Benner and many more heroes, he could be considered as an Avenger on his own! Stan Lee is an irreplaceable asset in the Marvel world and has been around for as long as we can remember. If you have watched recent Marvel movies, you could catch a glimpse of the man himself, making sneaky cameos here and there.

 Born as Stanley Martin Lieber on the 28th December 1922, Stan Lee was a highly ambitious child even at a wee age and he was heavily influenced by heroic tales. In his teens, Stan Lee had a burning passion towards writing and he aspired to write a book worthy of claiming the title of becoming the next Great American Novel. During this period, he would take up part-time jobs which mostly involved writing, delivering and ushering. After graduating from high school, Stan Lee ventured into the world of performing arts. In 1939, Stan Lee became an assistant at the new Timely Comics, which is commonly known as Marvel Comics in this present day, - with a little help from his uncle. Starting off as an errand boy at first, Stan Lee climbed his way up the ladder and eventually became the chairman of Marvel Comics. He turned out to be legend as we know him today.

During World War 2, Stan Lee served as a writer and an illustrator for the American Army, learning the full perspective of war at the same time. This knowledge came in useful to him, and soon became inspiration for his future works. Stan Lee has also been involved in a variety of multimedia projects while serving as an ambassador for Marvel. His appearances in these movies were the one of the highlights of. Although the cameos were no longer than a minute, his presence definitely left an unforgettable impression in the hearts of audiences. Due to his outstanding and unwavering involvement in the comic industry, Stan Lee has earned a star in the Hall of Fame. This is no easy feature and he unmistakably earned the right to be rewarded this extremely remarkable award!

Although Stan Lee may not posses inhuman strength or an indestructible robot suit, he will always remain a true hero deep within our hearts for eternity. Without him, our avengers would not even exist today! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Stan Lee, for making our childhood a spectacular one.
