Ever watched a movie that heavily influenced your perfect image of the future? Well, this is SPARKS’ Top 10 Glimpses into the Future!

10. The Host

An alien race, the Souls, wipe out the minds of humans and convert them into hosts for interstellar travellers. Melanie and her family manage to escape from the Hosts but Melanie gets caught and the Hosts implant a soul in her. The soul takes mercy on her and saves Melanie but the other hosts want retrieval from this issue.


9.  Doomsday

A virus known as the Reaper hit Scotland and Eden Sinclair was one of the last to escape quarantine. Twenty-five years later, Eden leads a team back to the infected zone to find a counteragent to the virus since the out-break in London. Eden and her team fight against wild survivors in hopes to cure the disease before the virus threatens the existence of mankind.



8. Oblivion

The Earth’s 60-year alien invasion, known as the Scavs, is still ongoing. The Moon was destroyed hence, causing several earthquakes and tsunamis. The humans were then evacuated to Saturn’s moon, Titan. Jack, one of the few humans left on Earth, is working to protect the fusion energy generators which generate power for the humans on Titan. When he returns to his home, he notices a Scav signal being released from the Empire State Building. Jack destroys the signal, only to witness the landing of a spacecraft.


7. Back to the Future Part II

Doc Brown returns in his time machine on a mission to bring Marty McFly and his girlfriend, Jennifer Parker, to the future in hopes to help their future children. When they arrive in 2015, 30 years into the future, Doc hypnotises Jennifer and abandons her in an alley in order to protect her from knowing too much information of the future events. Doc then gets Marty to pose as his son, trying to avoid involving himself in a crime with a friend, Griff. The truth surfaces and Griff starts a fight.


6. Divergent

In the future, Tris Prior lives in the destroyed Manhattan. The people are divided into five factions; Candor, Dauntless, Amity, Erudite and the never mentioned, Divergent. The ritual, faction over blood, is strongly believed. Tris chooses Dauntless but in the process of becoming a Dauntless, Tris realises she is a Divergent. A Divergent has a part of each faction in them. While concealing her status, she discovers a war that would threaten her loved ones.



5. Alien

Crew of the starship, Nostromo, is woken up from their cyro-sleep halfway to home to find out more about a call from an alien vessel. The crew then encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship. A substance springs from the egg and sticks to one of the crew members. The effects make him fall into a coma.

4. Zenon, Girl of the 21st Century

Zenon Kar, a 13 year old who lives with her family in a space station in 2049, gets in trouble with the commander and is sent back to Earth to live with her aunt as a punishment. Zenon is having troubles fitting in with the other kids in her school. They find her stories and slang weird. Zenon befriends two boys, Andrew and Greg. Zenon uncovers a mission to sabotage the computers of her home space station. What will she do next?



3. Meet the Robinsons

Lewis gives up on retrieving his latest invention stolen by a man named Bowler Hat Guy. A young time-traveler, Wilbur Robinson, arrives to the scene to take Lewis away to the future. Lewis spends his entire day in the future with Wilbur’s family and discovers an astounding secret which could change his life forever.



2. Wall-E

In the year 2805, the Earth is trampled with garbage. The humans are evacuated but one robot is left behind. That robot, is a Waste Allocation Load Lifter - Earth Class (WALL-E). An Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator (EVE) was sent to investigate vegetation on earth and WALL-E slowly starts to fall in love with her. After EVE’s mission is complete, she has to leave. Will WALL-E let her go?

1. Avatar

By 2154s, all of Earth’s resources have been used up and Earth is going through a severe energy crisis. A valuable mineral, Unobtanium which could just save human kind is located in Pandora, where the Na’vi live. The Na’vi are blue humanoids who live in peace with nature. To survive in Pandora, scientists use Na’vi-human hybrids called, ‘Avatars’. An Avatar, Jake, is attacked and is taken by the Na’vis into their tribe. How will he return?
