October’s been an intense roller coaster ride and with the year coming to an end, my gut tells me the ride is bound to continue through November. To give you something relaxing yet exciting to get your mind off your hectic days, the theme for this month’s issue is ‘Nature’. An issue packed with a soothing playlist, extreme outdoor activity suggestions, ways to get in touch with nature and the healthiest ways to release stress. A temporary escape from reality.
Another factor that inspired us to choose the theme 'Nature' for November’s issue (beside the fact it is an alliteration with a nice ring to it) was the sudden realization that time is just ticking by at the speed of light. We don’t take enough time to appreciate and absorb what nature has to offer. One day, the Congolian jungles may be replaced with concrete jungles! For the past few months I have been swearing by the saying “stop and smell the roses”. We miss out on the beautiful world around us because we are so engrossed in our laptops (as I am now, writing this post), phones and tablets. We're so caught up in a world we have created in our minds, a virtual world that we may even love more than the real! It has gotten to the extent that we forget to stop and allow the REAL world to take our breath away. Hopefully this issue reminds you to stop and smell the roses.
“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.”
